The Guardian Project
The Guardian Project is a secure, lightweight contact-tracing and alert system for COVID-19 exposure which can integrate with verified test results and symptom self-reporting. Our mission is to preserve a high level of privacy and be easily usable by anyone, regardless of age or technical affinity.
I was one of the top contributors among an international team of developers working on the open-source client. I implemented fully interactive flows based on wireframes supplied by a team of designers and wrote the functionality for many of the components to generate content and intake data. I collaborated with teammates to pass the collected information to the Redux-store for processing by the rest of the application.
The Guardian Project was submitted to the Apple App Store and Android Play Store for review in May 2020. The application approval process is in limbo, assumedly due to Apple and Google’s own collaborative project.
